March 1, 2005 The labor dispute at Valley Environmental Services should not be interfering with the pickup of trash in the City of El Centro. “Valley Environmental Services has assured us that they are doing everything in their power to provide quality service with minimal interruption during the strike,” said City Manager Ruben Duran. Valley Environmental is a private company that provides contract trash hauling for the City of El Centro as well as other communities in Imperial County. Trash service may occur at times that are different from the routine pickup a schedule. “Residents are also encouraged to place their trash carts out the night before the regularly scheduled pickup day to avoid any delay in service,” Duran said. Duran added that residents that encounter any difficulties regarding
