El Centro Police Department's Animal Control Services are offered Monday - Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

We handle all animal control related calls such as: general complaints, dog bites, noise, etc. We issue citations and warnings as applicable.

FAQ's:

  • Cat Trap - $25.00 for 7 Days
    Pay the fee at 150 N. 11th Street, El Centro, CA and we will set up the trap for you. After 7 Days (or if the cat is trapped before that), we will pick up the trap.
  • Dog Claim - $30.00
    To claim a dog, please call us or come in person.
  • Dead Animals - $20.00 (if we pick them up)
    State Law requires all animals to be double-bagged. You can bring your dead animal to 150 N. 11th Street, El Centro, CA and place your dead animal in our freezer free of charge. If you prefer, we can pick up your dead animal (it is still your responsibility to double-bag your pet) for a fee of $20.00
  • Problems with Noise (Barking Dogs)
    We enforce section 17.1 of the City of El Centro Municipal Code, but as stated there, we require two (2) written affidavits for us to enforce the law.
  • Lost/Found Animals
    Lost or Found a Dog? Calls us and we can help. Dogs found are kept at least 72 Hrs. at the Humane Society. If the Dog is adoptable, he/she will be kept a longer time at the Humane Society. Please contact them at (760) 352-1911 for additional information.
  • Dog License - $8.00
    Dog Licenses are $8.00, pease take your dog to a local vet and provide vaccination proof.
