New City Mascot

El Centro has a new friend. The mascot was chosen as a result of a Mascot Contest the City had with the youth from El Centro Elementary School District earlier this year. The contest included participants from grades 2nd through 7th. A total of 48 entries were received and the top 7 were selected (one from each school).

Eight citizens from throughout the community volunteered as Judges and selected the top three. One of these idea's was used to create El Centro's mascot.

The Grand Prize winner was Naylea Solorio, 3rd grader from Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School.
