The Finance Department manages the financial affairs of the City and Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency. Responsibilities include providing financial information to the City Manager and City Council regarding the fiscal affairs of the City, preparing the annual budget and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, administering the payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable programs, cashiering, business license administration, purchasing and utility billing.

Leticia Salcido, Finance Director for the city of El Centro, received an award at the December 04, 2012 City Council meeting. The Award of Financial Reporting Achievement from the Government Finance officers Association of the United States & Canada was presented to Leticia Salcido Finance Director. The Certificate of Achievement plaque was awarded to the City of El Centro. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This is the fifth year Director Salcido and the City have received the award.
