The Finance Department manages the financial affairs of the City including the Redevelopment Agency. Responsibilities include providing financial information to the City Manager and City Council regarding the fiscal affairs of the City, preparing the annual budget and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, administering the payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable programs, cashiering, business license administration, purchasing, customer utility billing, and information technology (IT).

We are committed to providing quality customer service to all departments as well as to the public. One of our primary goals is developing & implementing efficient and effective financial policies, plans and reporting systems that help the operating departments achieve their objectives and assure the City’s long term fiscal health.

Leticia Salcido, Finance Director for the city of El Centro, received an award at the September 2, 2009 City Council meeting. The Award of Financial Reporting Achievement from the Government Finance officers Association of the United States & Canada was presented to Leticia Salcido Finance Director. The Certificate of Achievement plaque was awarded to the City of El Centro. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This is the second year Director Salcido and the City have received the award.
