Major roadwork will be occurring throughout the City of El Centro
from September 2007 through February 2009.

Much of this work will require motorists to use detours or result in traffic delays. The work is occurring to improve infrastructure due to development of the Imperial Valley Plaza, IV Commons, and city projects.

  • 4th and Wake .- Work being completed for a new median island and larger curb return. From May 2008 thru July 1 2008, expect traffic delays.
  • Danenberg Drive (East of Dogwood) and Dogwood Ave (North of Danenberg) .- Expect detours, reduced through lanes from September 2007 through May 2008. Work involves widening road way, constructing medians, and installing traffic signalization.
  • Farnsworth Road between McCabe and Danenberg road. Expect road closure from summer 2008 to fall 2008
  • Danenberg Drive West of Dogwood. Expect road closure between January 2008 to April 2008. Work includes the installation of a sewer force main.
  • Orange Avenue between Waterman Avenue and La Brucherie Avenue. Expect detours and road closure between December 2007 to January 2008. Work involves road reconstruction/widening.
  • Dogwood Avenue between State Street and Commercial Avenue. Expect detour and/or road closure between March 2008 and April 2008. Work involves road reconstruction.
  • Imperial Avenue between Adams Avenue and Orange Avenue. Expect detour and/or road closure between December 2008 and February 2009.
  • Dogwood Avenue between State Street and Ross Avenue. Expect detour and/or road closure between December 2008 and February 2009.
